JOHN BAUMANN’S INSPIRING MESSAGE OF EMBRACING CHALLENGES AND LIVING AN AMAZING LIFE GOES WELL BEYOND HIS 14-YEAR JOURNEY WITH PARKINSON’S

April 3, 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

John Baumann continues to be challenged both personally and professionally and also continues to live an amazing life. John’s message touches and inspires people in all walks of life, whether attendees are experiencing life-changing challenges or not. John will be presenting on April 18, 2015 at the UF Health Parkinson’s Symposium in Jacksonville. John started experiencing symptoms of Parkinson’s disease in his late 30’s and is now 54 years old. His message is simple, yet powerful: there are always things that you can do to have the best life possible if you reach deep down inside yourself and tap into your life force no matter what the challenge or adversity.

John is not just a living example of practicing what he preaches, but provides the inspiration to his audiences to follow in his footsteps. His no-nonsense, straight talk approach will motivate attendees to create their own personal plan to overcome challenges and live an amazing life whatever the circumstances. As one Chief Operating Officer put it, “John Baumann is an inspiration and a living example of making lemonade out of lemons. He inspired my sales force with his wisdom and confidence! He truly motivates with real life examples of how to conquer the world. I highly recommend.”

John was a successful attorney, on the faculty of the University of Louisville, and a semi-professional softball player before Parkinson’s forced him to give up all of these activities that, he thought at the time, defined him as a person. He has since reinvented himself into a critically acclaimed author, internationally recognized speaker and success workshop facilitator. Come hear John and be amazed by his physical appearance and influential, positive message. In fact, he describes himself as “Positively Unshakeable.” As an event organizer related, “John: How do I thank you – let me count the ways …. you came, you thrilled, you brought people to tears, you brought people to laughter, but, most importantly, you inspired.”

John has made presentations, with amazing reviews, among other places, in Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Burlington, Buffalo, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Louisville, Miami, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Palm Desert, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Regina , Rochester, Sioux Falls, St. Louis, St. Thomas, San Juan, Santa Fe, Tulsa, the World Parkinson Congress in Montreal and Malaysia.

Leisha Phipps, MSW Program Director - Dallas Area Parkinson Society

We all felt inspired and enjoyed listening to your presentation. Even though we are not living with Parkinson’s, we felt boost of motivation to continue helping those who are living with this disease. I am motivated to make more personal phone calls to people living with PD and asking how they are doing. Sometimes that “extra” bit of kindness truly makes a difference to someone. I am also motivated to research program ideas and partner with other organizations that may have similar values.

I learned that life is unexpected and that you cannot control it. What matters is your attitude!

-Great way to end the day, brave man, thank you very much!

-Good, excellent, great, outstanding speaker, very moving!

-Inspirational who just “gets it”

-Positive thinker and very funny!

-Honest speaker but also humorous!

MARY SPREMULLI VOICE AEROBICS

Yes, you touched every person at our conference, who will in turn change and impact so many others. The feedback from our participants was overwhelmingly positive. You are the only speaker to ever receive a standing ovation. Thank you for taking time to share, motivate and inspire. We are blessed to know you.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING REHABILITATION HOSPITAL

I will be honest. During the first 10 minutes of your presentation, I started reading work related material on my laptop. For surely, I had watched your You-Tube and seen your videos and knew what to expect. Surely, as a therapist I had studied this disease, the pathological components, the psychological components, the treatment alternatives……..Surely, I understand it.

Not so much. You caught my attention and I was enthralled. You were able to couple the impairments you experience with the emotions felt. You walked us through your life with the disease through “your eyes”. A perspective that a therapist/nurse rarely has the chance to hear. We get so busy telling patients how to deal with x, y and z, but our eyes are blurred by the science of it all most of the time.

You did it through truth, Through your humor, humility and determination to tell your story. One that most deservedly needs to be shared.

I will advocate to have you share your story. I appreciate your determination, diligence and dedication.
